So I have one of the Gulf States 80's. I know this because of the port-equipped leather, no leather on the center console or shifter, came from GA, etc.

While doing the pin-7 last night I located the non-OEM-Toyota, Gulf States-Equipped, alarm module under the driver's side dash. Several wires run from the module and splice/tap into various oem wire harnesses as well as to an adjustable shock sensor located on the fire wall above the brake pedal (which I just discovered). While looks very professional, it's not factory. My guess is that this system was installed at port or at the dealer on several 94 80's imported by Gulf States as the system instruction manual is titled with "Toyota" etc.

So to my question.........I'd like to remove this system but with so many wires splicing into oem wires I'm a bit leary of letting loose with the wire cutters and just yanking everything out for fear of affecting something else. Has anyone else removed one of these? Anyone else with a Gulf States 80?

your right, its a port installed alarm, I recall alot of talk about this over at................yeah ya you guessed it........the 80's forum :D

Gulf States also like to stick fender flares on 100 series.................YUNK

Yeah - there was talk but not much about removing it. Actually meant to post this in the 80 section but was trying to talk on the phone while I posted.

EDIT: Ahhhh, much better.

Jason,

As you know, the manual/booklet (that you sent me to scan and post... thanks!) for that alarm doesn't cover the wiring diagram. You may be able to gleen enough information from the RS3000 EWD and installation manuals to remove the one in your truck.

If you do, please document the removal and I'll host the information for you. I'm trying to get all the common alarms documented in one place.

Moj - Here is how to get the information for which you are searching:

1) Examine the control module for your alarm. Get the model number and the FCC id. Both will be present, probably molded into the case.
2) On web, google FCC id lookup. You will find an FCC site where you can get the manufacturer to whom the FCC id is registered.
3) Contact the manufacturer with the model number and get a wiring diagram.
4) You should then be able to figure out the rest.
