80s Headlights

Bummed I missed the meeting on Saturday. I'm hoping to get some thoughts/ideas here on headlight recommendations for an 80. I have a 1995 80 series and with the basic (I think there essential stock) headlights I can't see s*** at night. Does anyone have a headlight or bulb upgrade they'd recommend?

H.i.r. bulbs. There are many threads about them. I have not done it yet but need to.

Also check the chrome inside the headlight housing area. If it is faded and peeling there is nothing left to reflect and magnify the light and you will see little improvement with a bulb upgrade. Sometimes the lens will be very dirty on the inside. You can bake the assembly at 225º for a few minutes to soften the adhesive and remove the lens from the hoising for a cleaning.

If the chrome inside the housing is fading, what is the best new housing to replace it with?

Good question. I was fortunate enough to have had another 80 that I was selling at the time and so I swapped them. If they are needed, post them up on the Need Parts thread, and I'll see what we can come up with. Or check Ressler... $$
