I vaguely remember seeing something on this from some time ago.

Debating the idea - with myself - of selling the Superduty, picking up a stock Collectors Edition '97 for my wife and turning our '97 40th into my work truck / off road toy.

Can't fit all my tools and materials into the stock 80 cargo area so I was toying with the idea of just removing the rear seats and fabricating a slding storage system all the way up tho the back of the front seats.

Anybody done this or have any ideas? Pictures would be great! Thanks.

My 80 (see sig.) is a 2 seater delivery vehicle right now and I plan on keeping it that way. I run a restaurant with a full catering schedule 6 days a week and my 80 is perfect for deliveries. i can get a ton of food in the thing. I am going to build up my wifes LX (which will one day be my DD) and always keep the 80 for business (it will be our extra vehicle one day). I think it is a great idea and with the reliability of these I don't think I wlill have to worry about another delivery truck for quite some time...now I need to sell the 2 rows of seats (blue leather is superb shape) to build some funds for armor/lift for the LX;)

Thanks Dan - missed that one - I've been working non-stop.

Thanks smitty good ideas.

Beno's rig looks the best for my application so far.

I need ROOM. I'm used to putting 4X8 sheets of plywood and drywall in the back of an Excursion with the door closed. I know that I will have to get a trailer to haul materials, but my nail guns and compressors will eat up all the space I've seen so far. Not to mention miter saw(s), tile saw, saw horses, generator, etc.

It's pretty roomy in there for modification and there are lots of nice pre-drilled holes everywhere for attaching tie downs, bungee, etc. My set up is temporary. at this point.

I really like AMMO's a lot. He's got a nice air hose reel, custom tie down attachments, and has the whole back Herculined (Rhino, Line-X, I forgot which one).

Mine will be more of a work truck as well with the ability for modularity for expedition type usage. Some guys here like Hltopper and expeditionswest have some nicely set up vehicles for that type of use.

Either way, it hauls a lot.

Cheers.
