Now there's some secret squirrel s*** for ya...can I be third in line?

I've toyed around with the idea of putting a supercharger on the 1FZ and having the motor reworked to the extent needed to support that. For the money, though, a V8 swap would probably be better all around.

Don't do it. The supercharger on the white 80 we sold added a little more pep but nothing close to the increase I would have to see to make the expense to benefit ratio make sense. I would have been pissed if I had done the swap myself.

Sherry got like 12mpg in hers. She drives SLOW

As DNP said, Rob (offroadlimo) has done extensive research on this subject.

I have bounced around the idea of the 4.7 tundra V8.. but the cost and the HP compared to a 6.0 or even a 5.3 make the chevy swap a no brainer. Aftermarket support and parts availability blow away the 4.7. Plus they're pretty reliable motors. Rob even knows how to make the 6.0 bullet proof. This is what the 80 lacks.

I'm really looking forward to this conversion. In spite of the fact that a 100 has more creature comforts and does virtually everything better than an 80, I still prefer the way an 80 drives (well, at least on a flat road....but that's the reason for the V8 swap)

Supercharger is not worth the scratch. I drove Mark's SC 'd landcruiser and was not impressed. It Needs a fuel management system. I 'd rather have a lighter more fuel efficient motor that gets 400 hp on 87 octane then run a heavier, less efficient motor that needs 91 octane to make around 300hp

6.0 engine puts out some nice torque...I'm a big fan and that's what I plan to use to replace the 5.7 in my 60 when it decides to grenade...hopefully that will not be too soon.
