Hello all - just got my wife a 96 FZJ 80 - it didn't have the owners manual, but it was so cheap I didn't really care. Can anyone tell me what the two buttons next to the gear shifter do ( they say power and 2nd) I am sure they are tranny settings, but the curiousity is killing me, and I ordered an owners manual but it'll be two weeks before I get it.

thanks

Sure... PWR button changes the shift points, so your tranny will allow the RPM's to get higher before shifting up to the next gear. This technically gives you "more power," since your HP output is higher at the higher rpm's.. good for when you're in a hurry, up hills, etc.

2nd button will make your truck start in 2nd, instead of 1st. Good for snow/ice situations..

thanks NakMan - you rule - I appreciate your answer - I feel better now - I figured that was what the pwr button was but I was lost on trying to figure out the 2nd
