Slee Off Road has a great site for those questions Shush. FAQ in the 80 section. I have seen a few that fit your profile that will be good to keep and drive.

just read it for 2 hours.......I have 2 or 3 on radar that would do for my needs as a DD and weekend wheeler.

They are the same truck. Only difference is body clad molding, higher quality leather(softer), auto climate control, wheels, softer springs, cd changer and sub in center console. Cost to maintain is the same. I have found that for some Lexus parts the Toyota version is cheaper. If I had to start over I would buy a 93-94 with lockers that needs an engine and do a v8 swap right off the bat. If you want to keep the stock engine look for a 95-97. Major issues are headgasket, clogged sunroof drains, slow Windows, radiator, etc. Either way you go I wouldn't go any larger than a 37" tire. You can do just about whatever you want with lockers and 35's. 40's are too big in my opinion. When you find one I'd be more than happy to go with you to check it out.

great info....bcks up what I read in the thread Nolan mentioned. I will probably not go bigger than 33's on this truck as it will be a DD......I would LOVE for you to come look at any trucks local that I find. hopefully the swed wagon is gone today and I can start REALLY looking. The volvo is all shined up and in the garage waiting on it's new owner.

Thanks fellas

I agree Eric...BUT....I will go the 95-97 stock engine route not the v8 swap as it's a DD..

now I know to check the headgasket, sunroof drains, move all the windows, check radiator, etc. which was not in any of the 5 threads I just read for stuff to check....thanks Rob

Ok I'm OFFICIALLY shopping for a 95-97. Volvo is sold. This is a DD so no 35s or destroyed interior

Good news. I no longer have to work on a Volvo. Buy tcb's. Bring the wifes old cruiser back to Brandon.

Gonna look at it hopefully early next week

Do I get more "rob work hours" if its a yota? HA!

40th Anniversary Floor Mats

I have two sets both are oak in color and include the first 2 rows. 40th anniversary are stitched in the front mats. One set is brand new and one set is used. The last time I checked these have been discontinued by Toyota. I'm asking $200 for the new set and $50 for the used. Pm if interested.

Shush...you can buy my 80 and that way it stays in the family!

Mark I couldn't pay for the mods alone on your truck!

Oh come on now...I am sure you have a kid or wife you could sell, the kidney trade in China is always an option...who needs two?

I'd give both for it...eerrr kidneys....not wife and kid

BUT my wife had 2 MUSTs....no heavy mods and something her 5 foot 2 frame could get into with a 14 month old

That one has the 40th $3000 premium added

I don't know so ill ask....

is that FOR REAL bc I am seeing that alot on the 40ths....$10k for 185k miles? I can't sell the wife on that!
