Rob Wilder has what looks to be a 97 grey one at his shop but he hasn't responded to my inquiry on if it's for sale.

Nolan that one looks to be in good shape.....drive it Tuesday to the meeting?

Thats bamakayak's (JR) 40th edition. Affectionately known as the one hit wonder. Freshly rebuilt motor. Traded it in for a brand new tacoma. Good 80 no lockers.

They are smoked....strange.

it looks great for a 94. From the papers it looks like 35,000 miles my guy paid $30,000 at herrin gear in 1998 for it. Before that it was in GA.

I love low owner, and (relatively) low mile Cruisers.....:D....with lockers :)

Of course, the PO did not know what they were and they have never been switched on since he bought it in 1998, so no wonder they did not switch on.

I will be doing some digging on that. I think it means cleaning the connections on the switch...

Just for my knowledge. What would you have to do to a stock 80 with lockers like this one to make it a good wheeler and how much would it cost? I'm sure there are several opinions.

Sliders, a small lift, and 33-35's will get you on 95% of the trails. But don't forget that 80's are also required to have an onboard fridge.

All that is for web wheeling.

2.5" lift and 35's will get you anywhere... be very careful without sliders, but I wheeled for three years without them and had FUN. and yes, I did hard stuff, but I'm an OK driver.

opinions are like nipples, I have two of them.

There is no better, more capable, or easier to build trail rig than an 80 with lockers.

I had the basic 2.5" Old Man Emu kit with 35's and one rear locker on my old one and I took it all over Tellico, Clayton and Moab. No problems. Truly amazing truck. Nothing in the Cruiser world can be "built" to wheel cheaper and then driven to work at 13 mpg.

Andy. Excellent question with excellent answers. What ya waitin on?!!!

What does the green switch/light that is on the dash do?
