We had alarm problems in my wife's LX after the alarm remote broke/ got lost (don't remember what happened) and had to use just the key for a while.
I think you just unlock the door with the key, and then you have to put the key in the ignition and turn it on and then off once or twice before the alarm goes off and you can start it.
I believe Slee had a good alarm instructional on his site (could be mistaken about that, it's been awhile.)
Anyone know WTF it is? Jakes 97 40th does not have it.
Screw a hand throttle! Really, is that an OEM thing that is just not hooked up on mine? Wire there but no throttle knob? I might hook it up for the poser factor, but man-o-man, I HATE it when people use these things on the trail. With a PTO they are worthwhile......
Jakes did not have the fork bracket either....
Did you try locking and unlocking the door with the key? My old Dodge did that a few times and that did the trick. Just an idea.
I did everything. Nothing worked until I went and got a battery for the remote. I even unhooked the battery for 30 min.
If its like the port installed kit on the tacomas just unhook the alarm module. Look under the dash for a black box and unplug the big connector going to it. If its aftermarket find the box and follow the wires to a toggle switch or momentary contact switch. This is the valet switch cycle it a few times then start the truck. If you can't figure it out unplug the horns and remove the hazzard switch and drive it to work and I'll stop by on my lunch break and take a look.
