Well it got me home. It needs some work but nothing too bad. Avg about 73 on I-40. I would describe this truck like a friend used to describe some girls on campus. "Looks good from afar but far from good."

.....anyone want to go with me to Mass. to look at this one? I'm generally only interested in them if they need a stupid amount of work...........

Toyota : Land Cruiser: eBay Motors (item 280549850215 end time Aug-23-10 17:33:06 PDT)

Seriously, I'm hoping someone with real fabrication skills will come up with a plug-n-play V8 conversion for an 80 (preferably a 2UZ conversion). All the kits I've seen get pretty close, but stop short of where it'd need to be to get me interested (like, already installed in the truck!)

$3K starting bid with a blown engine?

As soon as I can get the 40 finished the 4.7 swap is next on the project list. Can't wait to start that one. I'll have to put stock springs back on to get it into the garage. Will be well worth it in the end. Depending on how it goes there might be a bunch of 4.7 swaped 80's running around Jackson.

Blaze that trail, Rob! An 80 or even a 62 with a 4.7 would be so incredibly awesome.

Let me know if you need any parts from salvage yards in MS, LA, south AL, or the FL panhandle.

Gray Daniels Toyota has a 97 80 on the lot. 147K on the clock and it has lockers. 2 tone white/grey. Don't know the price.

Later,

I just saw a 40th on I55 South just south of the Daniel Lake exit. It was at a used car lot called Premier I think.

Later,

Nevermind, the idiots want $15,977 for a 97 with over 140K on it... Idiots!

Did you tell them that'll buy The Shunt 26 80's?

If someone buys it they won't be idiots.....

You'd hafta bring cash... nobody will finance that much on that vehicle... and who would have $15K in cash for a car and be that stupid...
