Hi all,

Long-time reader but first time poster. Sorry my first post is self-promotional. I have gained a lot from this forum over the years tooling around on my 1997 80 Series but haven't posted because I've been recovering from my chronically-online youth and have had very little interest in diving back in :)

However, I've developed a few parts for my own FZJ80 recently and wanted to share them here and with the world to see if there is any demand. If there's no demand I will discontinue the effort. This is very much a side project with little desire to expand into more products. Everything here are just parts I've made for my own consumption and to my own taste first. Please feel free share your feedback with me here or in DM.

1. 80 Series Center Console Tray
Specially designed to fit in the upper center console storage area of a 1993-1997 Toyota Land Cruiser 80 Series (FZJ80), this storage tray provides much needed dividers for common items. Fabricated in black 3D PETG plastic, the two-piece set is extremely durable and heat resistant.

Why I made this: I had objects rolling around in this rather unfinished compartment and wanted some structure.
  • Currently available to ship immediately
  • Compatibility: 1993-1997 Toyota Land Cruiser, 1996-1997 LX450 (I think? LMK if I'm wrong!)
Purchase: Amazon, Ebay, Website (coming soon)

2. FZJ80 Dual Battery Tray
This kit includes all the necessary components to install this secondary battery tray in a 1FZ-FE model 80 Series Toyota Land Cruiser or Lexus LX450. Note that installation requires removing/relocating the windshield washer fluid bottle. Couth offers a Washer Bottle Relocation Bracket Kit. The installation process will involve installing the tray brackets and mounting the tray to your vehicle's engine bay. Once installed, the tray will fit most Group 27 and Group 34 automotive batteries, or can be used for mounting other accessories such as an air compressor. The tray features six auxiliary holes that can be put to future use for mounting accessories or custom brackets. Our USA-made battery tray is made from 5052 grade aluminum.

Why I made this: there appear to be two solutions on the market. One is an OEM plastic tray which I find looks and feels cheap (yet is pretty expensive), and the other option is really expensive and makes space for an ARB dual air compressor as well. I didn't want to place an air compressor in this location nor re-locate the coolant overflow bottle and set out to make a minimal solution.
  • Currently made to order so expect 2 week delay. If there's demand I can begin to stock for immediate shipment. Tray comes uncoated but we can talk about powder coat options if desired.
  • Compatible with 1993-1997 Toyota Land Cruiser, 1996-1997 Lexus LX450
Purchase: Amazon, Ebay, Website (coming soon)

3. FZJ80 Washer Bottle Relocation Bracket
This kit includes all the necessary components to relocate the windshield washer reservoir bottle from the front right of your 80 Series Land Cruiser engine bay to the back right. This creates space at the front of your engine bay for installations such as dual battery systems and air compressor. The installation process will involve installing the bracket and relocating the washer bottle to the new bracket, then extending the wiring for the washer bottle pump since the relocation will leave the existing cable too short. Our USA-made bracket is made from 5052 grade aluminum and powder coated.

Why I made this: there appear to be two solutions on the market that relocate the washer bottle. One leaves the bottle at an angle, which I don't like aesthetically, and the other is quite expensive with a little more complexity than necessary. I wanted a simple bracket with no bends, minimal hardware, and easy installation.

4. FZJ80 Main Battery Tray
Currently prototyping and will have first article for testing soon. The design is very similar to the dual battery tray, but for the driver side main battery. I'm not a fan of the OEM plastic tray and wanted something more robust and minimal.

Why I made this: I don't like the OEM plastic battery tray and wanted a minimal solution that matches my Dual Battery Tray.

Is your washer bottle relo compatible with the TRD supercharger?
Hi @COS80 sorry for the delay. I cannot confirm if the bottle relocation is compatible with the TRD supercharger since I don't have experience with the supercharger. I'm happy to get any measurements or extra photos of the backet and bottle installed in my 80 if you're looking for anything specific.

As an general update-- I now have a dual battery tray in stock for immediate shipment and a few washer bottle brackets will be in stock early next week.

I'm away from the truck but I can just look when I get back to it.

I got my first run of the Main Battery Tray installed and I couldn't be happier with the fit. It's great to get that huge old piece of plastic out of the way and no longer have to route all the wiring through the rubber grommets. I'll offer these shortly once I get more photos taken and listings made.

I made this one slightly larger than the dual battery tray for more battery size options and flexibility, and included 8x extra 5mm mounting holes on the sides for custom brackets and implements.

All items are now available for purchase in all locations. Thank you to those who have purchased for your early support. Looking forward to hearing about how install goes. The experiment will continue for now to test demand, and we'll go from there. No plans to introduce anything else, but let me know if you have an ideas.

@96bruizer thank you! I removed them from Amazon and eBay to simplify things on my side and offer at a lower price thanks to much lower platform fees. I’ll follow up with you via email later today with a more detailed lead time.

Hi folks - stumbled on these battery trays and ended up pulling the trigger for my HDJ81. That's not the stated use case for these, but they worked pretty well so I figured I'd chime in for anyone curious.

I bought them to try and reduce packaging issues after my PDI air box and FMIC install - the charge piping was just sort of "on" the stock boxes, and I needed more room trans cooler line routing, winch power, and other stuff that the stock boxes occupied. I could have just chopped them up, but the couth items were cleaner.

Overall, the pieces are pretty nice and very well packaged. Would definitely recommend. As for the diesel specific fitment - the JDM passenger side tray was a little tight on the body harness, and conflicted with the headlight washer line. I rerouted the later, and rebent the mount arm to improve the harness clearance. I also nicked a corner off of the tray itself to give a little more radiator clearance. On the driver's side, I ended up cutting down the crossbar mount to clear the PDI air box and bending one of the Jbolts to improve the fit. Everything else bolted up.

TLDR - a little massaging, and they'll work for an HDJ as well! Fit is probably spot on for an FZJ.

I saw these on eBay. The parts look outstanding! I want to grab a passenger tray to mount my air compressor.

@318aye this is awesome! Sorry my reply is so late-- my notifications aren't working. Thanks for purchasing the trays and posting the pics here. I wish I had an HDJ81 on hand to design bespoke trays for, but very cool to see you make these work.

@06reg4x4 I ended up de-listing from ebay and keeping them on my site where I can offer them for $20 less w/o ebay fees. I also made this change, in part, because I'm moving to a made-to-order model and I wasn't sure if ebay customers would be accustomed to waiting for 2 weeks and didn't want to get penalized. Maybe I should re-list on ebay for more reach/legitimacy?

That makes sense. But I have been one to order from eBay instead of the same companies websites. Just for the easy button

Any more Center console trays @couthcarcare?

How is the lead time on a dual battery tray? Are these made from stainless? Or do they need to be painted?

@Fj80oregon I currently have one of each tray in stock for immediate shipment. Typically 2 weeks otherwise. They are raw aluminum. I haven't painted mine. There is the possibility of corrosion over time, but this is true of any other AL parts in the engine such as the cylinder heads. Users can paint or powder coat for aesthetics.
