yea, definitely possible to just cut a hole in the panel and mount the tweeter there. I know it's advantageous to have them up higher but the difference between on the 'lower' part of the panel and on the upholstered 'upper' where they currently reside is certainly negligible.

I don't mind drilling the hole prior to powder coat if you give me measurements. Otherwise, it's all aluminum and would be hidden behind the tweeter mount so there's no issue with corrosion or unsightliness even.

LMK, happy to help.
You mean cut a hole in the aluminum panel you make? Or am I missing something? That’s possible obviously but they’re better positioned up high above the panel.

Yes, I will be addressing the rear quarters in the 80 for sure.

Looking for door access to the compartment? There are 'QPM' skeletons available from a couple vendors that offer some utility to the space on the passenger side.
Awesome! Look forward to seeing the product.
Yep, I have a QPM mount with various accessories on it now. The plastic interior panels are just a bit flimsy (especially after repeated removal and reinstallation during my QPM install/setup), and something like your 60 series panels would be nice for the 80. Definitely with access doors to check fuses and maybe some vents for the pass side. For the driver's side, it would be great for storage access where the stock jack is located. The OEM access door is flimsy and just rattles over every little bump.

Anyone have any pictures of these panels in gray and installed?

Installed by customer (sorry, I can't keep track of them all or I'd tag) with One Stone arm rest.

Looks great! If I wanted a set without the pals cutouts, could you do that? I see the rear door picture above is smooth with no cutouts. I am mainly interested in this set look OEM, but support modern speakers and be less flimsy.

of course - just put the request in the Order Notes. May have to endure a slightly longer leadtime depending on my ordering schedule but that's it!

I've been looking forward to a picture of one without the courtesy light in the rear door. Looks good.

I've never noticed it before but the front speaker is relocated from the factory spot? Does this mean the factory door needs to be cut to accommodate the speaker magnet and basket?

The speaker is relocated out from behind the dash for a few reasons, but it's placed above another hole in the door frame so you *may* not have to run spacers depending on the depth of the chosen speaker. No cutting necessary... unless you chose to.

Couple questions -

- Looks like a 6.5" speaker in that rear door card, right? Is that the recommended size or did the hole need to be enlarged to fit?

- Have you had any customers put these in a RHD 80 yet? I assume the doors are identical but figured I'd check first.

That Sony ES 6.5" fit directly in the front and rear holes, I believe yes. Specs for both can be found online (I don't have them on hand at the moment).

I *think* I've had a couple RHD customers at this point but I am not positive. There should be zero difference based on my understanding of all the electrics and mounting... I assume as well.

Making a suggestion for version 2.0. Instead of the Molly panel cut-out things, can you have a set where you can put your door pockets and lights back on?

I'll look into it

edit: mmmmm... I just looked into it and glanced at my original design notes. Looks like making the stock speaker location and map pocket version could be offered as an option pretty easily. Stay tuned...
