Hi All...
Well I have finally scored some std 80 coils (fronts to use in the rear)....only done 100k km s.
Threw them in today and here are the results / comparisons to the OME851 coils I was running...(would be interested in the factory ride heights)

OME851 coils
Free height 470mm
Compressed height 340mm
bumpstop clearance 165mm

Std 80 series
Free height 500mm
Compressed height 320mm
bumpstop clearance 145mm

Give or take a few mm..
On near empty tank but fully loaded with recovery gear.
The fronts had sagged a little and I had a bout a 2 inch difference between front and back for height... Now its sits a little lower in the rear (what I wanted) and when gassed up will sit a little flatter...
Should feel a lot better off road (was very bouncy and tippy even with new shocks) and daily driving.. I was told the stiff OME coils made the truck cock a leg when cornering... And looked rather scary for those that followed...
Will test it out in the coming weeks...

Very interesting, thanks for sharing. I've got OME873 (medium) in the back of my LJ78, and it sits pretty high compared to the front with no load. When my LJ78 is loaded (+1000lbs), it sits level, which is better than a sagging a$$ I guess. But I normally don't have it fully loaded. I’ve been wondering what effect 80 springs would have. I look forward to hearing how these work out for you. Do you tow sometimes?

I tow very rarely...(unless there is a landrover on our trip lol) Its my toy so to speak so just me and the kids, boot full of recovery gear and lunch....
So light loads....

What vehicle is the OME 851 for?

well i am using the 80 coils on my lj78 from the past 4 years and they work great, can put maximum load,no sagging, smooth run ..... lj 78 rear coils were sagging all the time with small load :frown:
btw the front ones are lj 78 genuine with a spacer placed to match the 80 coils(to match front n rear height).is it right to do so??just asking

If its worked for you for the last 4 years.. Then it is right to do so....
