And here it is. it's a genuine GPS speedo unit and works well. Secured with heavy duty velcro and does not interfere with primary instrument visibility.

but this digresses a bit from the topic. 8-)

If any of you have CarPlay, there’s an app (OnTrack) that works with Bluetooth OBD2 readers to display data on your head unit. You’ll need a specific Bluetooth reader and the app is $30/year or $4/mo

I was a little hesitant, but the reader immediately paired with the app and displayed data. I wish there was an option to show actual gauges instead of text data, but this app is pretty new.

Hi uscmas412 is your 80 got the OBD1 or OBD2? my 80 is an OBD1?

also is there any info on where would be the best place to tie in a trans temp sensor? i was thinking possibly in line before the trans cooler

Consider the @Lutz Auto multi-gauge, which replaces the clock but otherwise maintains the OEM look of the dash without external gauges. I just bought this and will have it installed soon. Here's a link to the Lutz Auto website: Multi-Gauge Clock Replacement for FZJ80/LX450 | Lutz Auto - https://www.lutzauto.com/product-page/LTZ-80-OBD-SCREEN
I got this installed a bit ago its a great addition but there isnt any thing for trans temp/water temp or oil pressure on it

@Overlanderson

Our multigauge does have external sensor inputs for trans temp and oil pressure. You just have to wire up the external sensors. An external coolant gauge is coming soon for the non OBD2 diesels, but coolant temp is transmitted over OBD2 for the 1fzfe.

Delta VS center console and shift console installed with some glowshift gauges. i got the oil pressure installed completely with the squirrelly adapter (super easy solution) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QXK0QSW?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title . i added the shift lock override, deleted my ugly useless rear heater, added sound deaden and wired in some extra power. I love the height of the console as it makes the perfect arm rest for both driver and passenger. i also discovered the PO installed new carpet directly over the old.. ill replace that eventually doing it the right way.
i gotta say it is pretty nice to have so many cup holders now :)
