Well, we got screwed. Offered 10 on the '96 in Greenville SC and the guy (who is in Upstate) said if no higher offers before Fri, we could come (potentially) get it. I called this AM to get the latest and he said some guy was coming from Charlotte this evening and was buying it for 10. WTF??? You would think he would call me or something, but he said he was of the thinking "first one with 10k gets it", but never alluded to that in our initial call.

People.

That sucks

Well who ever it is might be turning up in our club, i'll look for him in charlotte.

Maybe it wasn't meant to be, we'll find you one for sure, just be patient....I believe it was you that said "good things come to those who are patient."

Thanks for looking out... I have about 6 unreturned messages to this guy....

Don't sweat missing out on a $10k 80. IMHO that is ridiculous to pay for a stock one, maybe one like Greg's can fetch that much (or more).

If you're patient, you'll find one for $7k or less in very good to good shape. Mike from Fayetteville got his locked 96 LX for $4k and it was in great shape, until he wrecked it. They'll pop up............

It's gonna take more than that to get it out of the driveway...;)

I have put my car finding buying skills to work, my goal is to find you one by next thursday.

As lucky as you are you will probably find an 80 with a 5 speed too.

Already did.... its sitting 20 miles from my old house with a diesel too :D

A little pricey though

Damn, great deal- bit of a drive :). Going to look at a locked, white '95 Thursday. Will keep you all posted.

How about a 100? This one is a bit high mileage, but the price is nice. Personally, I think you could get it a bit lower...

2000 Land Cruiser

Yeah if I was buying a cruiser for a non wheeling daily driver I would definitely focus on the 100 series...but you might have alternative motives for getting an 80 ;).

Definitely agree. I would say that the 100 could be a good wheeler, but would require more work to get there...

Come on we all know that the best riding land cruiser ever built was this one
