I started on Raleigh, our 92 FJ80. Turns out it is a body off build. Drive train is gone, thanks Bob. Everything gets cleaned up and painted. 2.5" lift with castor correct going on, all new body mounts and bushings, move tie rod to front of axle. That is phase one of chassis. OEM Motor mount brackets are already removed and ground. Steering box is gone, frame will be plated at steering box.

Looking forward to following your progress forward with this Stan.

got bored with the truggie?

Not bored with the truggy, the 80 is more current for the business.

The entire frame has been wire wheeled on top and both sides, front axle is removed. Wore 1/2" off a 4" wire wheel!

That is why i have a pressure pot . And someone kinda close to blast bigger stuff for me.

I have no patience to deal with taking a rolling frame to the sand blaster. Getting all the sand out of the frame is a big PIA and when the guy tells you a week it is always 3. The wire wheel method also allows me to inspect every square inch of the frame for any problems. Its kind of a Zen thing too,
"Ahhhhh Grasshopper, become one with the truck"

I almost became one with my 45 frame doing that. I had one end up on an engine hoist so i could get the underside and had a metal brace under the hoist so the boom would stay up. Had 1 tire with blocks in the front and rear of it but only had one block on the other tire on the ground. Long story short i was under there grinding and seen a slight movement. I shot out from under it as the one tire with only one block decided that was not good enough and it was done being in the air. needless to say i found another block for that wheel right then and there.

FINALLY got this truck back from the AC guy. 5 WEEKS!! The owner wants his truck, go figure. Anyway finally got her back and the AC is blowing cold as hell and the motor is running great. Everything is buttoned up. This one is a 62 but will be quite the same in this 80 build, even a split case :) AC is blowing ice cold and it runs steady at 180 degrees with the AC full blast.

Picked up the rear axle from the blaster today. A little wire wheel love and it'll be ready for paint.

Frame and axles are primed with oil based primer

I was lucky that the I beam and one trolley was already in the shop when we bought it. I added another trolley and the two chain hoists. I found the two Yale 1 Ton chain hoists at a local pawn shop for $130 if memory serves.

Frame and axles are finished painted. Two coats primer, three coats finish color.
