again, that's why devices like the ScanguageII are invaluable.
You punch in the engine size (4.7L)....a few other things...i changed mine to litres as it's metric here in Oz...and when you fill up, you click Display Fillup and it shows you what you've consumed, vs what's on the petrol pump bowser....and there IS a difference usually. Not always though.

Sometimes in your favour, usually not. And then if you keep your tank topped up...which i used to to do (cant now...working part time)...but if you measure these things then you know which pumps at which station to use.
Saves you a bit of $$$ over a time period!
cheers

Looks can be deceiving. It'll drop real fast. Even when I fill up - after 15miles it's already falling off "F"

Same here. But it seems to be pretty consistent mid scale.

To avoid chasing your tail, you really need to start tracking mpg, not miles per tank...

Typos sent from my HTC EVO using the IH8MUD app...

Unless it's a variable tank size, same same. :)

It was just a generalization. 200 miles / tank = bad. 330 miles per tank = good.

280 miles per tank = sucky but normal? :D

^ that sounds normal to me, i get ~290 miles "per tank" (until the dummy light comes on), uncorrected. so a little over 300 miles. i'm a pretty light foot. my fills are usually ~21 gallons, so theoretically i would get 360 miles (gage) of mixed driving before the truck conked out.
