I got a free tundra limited 3rd member w/LSD that was getting thrown out for a bad pinion bearing. I have a 01 tundra non-LSD that i would like to upgrade. I've driven a number of these factory LSD trucks and it seems like the LSD does nothing, tires even spin the opposite way on the lift. (they all have high miles too) looking at the parts diagram is seems as though these are able to be able to shimmed into a tighter pre-load if desired. The worst clutch has 0.002 of wear, most at 0.001. doesn't look like it's worth replacing the clutches, thinking about getting the thickest shim available and trying it out. anybody ever have sucess doing this? i couldnt find anything searching.
