I see a number of posts of 8,000 lbs deployment weights. I can't see how it can get there. I'm at 6,700 lbs with gear. Only thing I don't have is heavy skid plates and roof rack. What's in the other 1,300 lbs?

Gear? Extra fuel, water, coolers, refrigerator, tools, compressor, ropes, chains, winch, full size spare, sliders, front and rear bumpers, jack, shovel, drawer system, more tools, I could go on and on.

I've got all of that. The only thing I didn't have the last time I hit the scales was drawers and fuel. But that's maybe 300 lbs. Stock is what, 5,600? and I'm 1,100 over that. Subtract me, wife, and dog and I have 750 lbs of bumpers, winch, sliders, fridge, high lift, etc. I just can't see adding another 1,300 lbs of gear and accessories. Maybe ppl are rounding up.

Ignore 04UZJ100. It's posters like him that have contributed to the steady decline of the 100 forum

We all have our days, I'm a dick sometimes too. And he does have a good point: why do I care? Because I could be missing out on 1,300 lbs of fun that's why! That's like 11 or 12 awesome girlfriends! :-). Hopefully it's not wasted on tools, gear, or accessories like others have so foolishly suggested.

In all seriousness, though, I'm just considering the rest of my build and can't get the math to go that high. So yes, I'm curious.

Mine was 6880 with me in the drivers seat setup just as my normal daily driving. Daily driving still means my fridge, sleeping pad/bag/tent and at the time roof rack installed. No extra fuel, water, food or high lift jack. When I go on trips I take the 2nd row out, so I start off removing weight not just adding. 8,000# does and has always seemed high to me save for a few rigs that have long range aux tanks in addition to the rest of the full kit like spresso & peg.
