Very cool, never realized it existed.

Looks like it had the Stripes and equipped similar to early SR5’s, but called Sport trim level?

Correct. 1979 and 1980. They were essentially SR5s except for the fact that there was no 5th gear. That changed in 1981 when the 22R showed up, along with a 5speed.

Thanks! I never realized the early one’s were both 20R and 4 speeds, despite owning an 81’ SR5 back in 83’-90’ and have an 83’ LWB DLX now!

Funny, how I took these things for granted back then, now an early mini truck sighting in the East is fairly rare!

Any thoughts of expanded the Heritage museum to mini’s etc.?

It isn't a Land Cruiser unless it's a Land Cruiser.

I kinda doubt it.

Well here she is, just about done. This one is incredibly original.

Great looking truck!

Epic truck. all it needs is the stripes and slightly smaller tires. :)

thanks Dan, did they all have stripes? the tires are just right 😁
Yes, they all had the tri color silver stripes on the doors, fenders and hood. The same stripes as the "Sport Truck".

I’m not sure about putting stripes back on it??? It was mostly original paint when I had it repainted about six years ago. I couldn’t see any sign of where stripes had been, but all the old literature shows them.

They could have been removed Years ago.

I knew a few people with the sport model and most took them off. I took mine off less then a week after I bought it.

I left mine on but trimmed them around the mirror mounts because the stripes tended to wrinkle there. Mine was a 1980. in '82 I converted the grille and headlamps to the then-new rectangular setup but I kept the one-piece bumper.
