Welcome to MUD!

Could you be more specific as to what is wrong with the harness? I sell a lot of the electrical connectors and correct colored wire for these old trucks and even offer a harness refurbishment service for harnesses that are in good enough shape.

Welcome Frank, I'm not sure if @caz has finished his shop in Lancaster yet or not. He may still be available to work on your FJ40. Send him a PM if my invoking his userid doesn't bring him to your thread.

What makes it look sketchy? You can probably fix it yourself, wiring these things isn't rocket surgery. Get yourself a multimeter, some solder/gun and some shrink tubing and go to town! Get the connectors from coolerman if those are missing. Use a wiring diagram to figure out where to start.

Not super close to you, but I had decent luck with Palita's Automotive in Kennett Square, PA. He's mostly a Land Rover shop, but he did some good work on my 40 early on. He mostly did metal and mechanical work - I have no experience with his ability to do wiring, but as others have said, the wiring on these trucks is pretty simple.

Thank u for the reply. Headlights, brake lights, horn work. Everything else doesn't. NUMEROUS Cut wires by PO for whatever reason. Not sure what to do. Trace and correct or do over? Thank u

Do the simple things first!
Pull each fuse one by one and check to see if it's blown. Replace if it is.
Clean the fuse block contacts AND the ends of the fuses. A Dremel tool with a wire brush or a .22 caliber bore brush works great for this task.
Clean both battery terminals and cables.
Remove and clean all body and chassis grounds. Anything with a White/Black wire in the harness is a ground.
Remove and check EVERY SINGLE BULB from all your lights. Verify they are the correct bulb for your truck. Clean the bulb socket and the bulb of all corrosion and apply a bit of dielectric grease to them and re-install them.

THEN take one circuit at a time like the Hazard lights, and start trouble shooting...

If you don't do all the above, you can spend HOURS and HOURS trying to track down a simple bad ground...
