Meatball,
Johnny might have a better idea of cost on a 60 swap. Is it cheaper JC? That might be the best route depending on your ultimate goals.

Meatball, lol.

You can pick up a 60 box and Pittman arm for somewhere around 100. Have it rebuilt and ported for another 150. Buy high steer, weld some frame sleeves, a steering shaft, and you're good to go.

Have you considered Hydro assist? There are several kits on the market. You can tap a standard IFS mini truck box for this setup.

So if i have this corret... I need to install power steering first then the hydro assist helps with steering to? I'm confused... Do I need both or just the hydro assist or power steering?

Confused.... trying to find the answers

Hydro assist works with the power steering. It uses a hydrolic ram that is tapped into the power steering box. It makes turning larger tires while in rocks etc much easier to do.

I plan to use hydro assist on the truggy I am building (slowly). I considered full hydro steering, but if you have a failure with full hydro on the trail you are left with no steering at all, no fun getting back.

Tell me where you decide to make this work weekend and I'll be there.

been awhile.....

It's been awhile since I've posted anything. During the hamom we completed a lot of work. The cruiser has a new master cylinder, clutch cylinder. We alos replaced the intake/exhaust manifold and adjusted the carb. There is no more exhaust leak and the 40 purs like a brand new cruiser. I alos purchased some new seats that almost look like ome.

The 40 is back ar Darins to get some welding, raptor liner and a safety check.

I've purchased some larger pattern knuckles for a hi-steer set up in the future. I purchased a gry steering wheel from a toyota truck. The next big expense is installing power steering.

I'm going to go with the 60 series setup and I habe already sourced my gear box. Johnny has been helping me with the rest of parts and I will probally be trying to set up a power steering hamom,

I've attached a few photos. Thanks to everyone who has helped me with this project.

Hey Meatball - good stuff there brotha.

On that steering wheel - mine was grey too, out of a 4Runner. I used Duplicolor Vinyl Dye (black) on it when installed, and it still looks good today. Just a heads up in case you don't like the grey and everything else interior is black.
