Hi guys,

I can get some body parts from a LC 78 or 76 - I haven't seen the donor car yet but in any case it is a 2008 model.

I have a 1998 75 series troopy. Has anyone here ever tried to use 78/76 parts on a 75 ? My troopy's body is in very bad condition, and used body parts here are scarce and expensive.

The body parts I can get are:

1. 2 front doors
2. front side panels (wings) - the outer and inner shell
3. engine hood

Thanks,

erez

If you have a donor 78 ,76 series2008 model it will have the wide bodied front to accomadate the v8 diesel some countries get.
The front doors on the 76 are a different shape

AFAIK,the 78 series troopy from 1999 to 2006 is really a 75 series troopy.

you can use any door from a troopy 1985-2010+
also if you find a wrecked pick up/ute which is 79 series from oct 99-2010 or a SWB 70 or 71 series you can use those doors as well
If the cruiser the doors come off have a fold down front window they wont fit
As for the 2008 model fron end parts as rosco said it will have the wide front ,as well as the wide front panels and bonnet/hood it has a wider front half of the chassis to, so i dont think it will be a staright bolt on but i could be done i guess

I saw the donor car today. It's a LC 79 series, with a 4.2 diesel engine (1HZ ?). The doors appear to be 1:1, the wings and bonnet hood look different but might still fit - it has all the parts, starting from the windshield - panels, side panels, front panels, including the grill, the inside of the grill and original Toyota snorkel. Any ideas on how I can make these fit my troopy ?

Thanks,

Erez

If you think the donnor 79 might fit it might not be a 2008 maybe a 05 or 06, the grill and indicators from a 99-06 model will fit a 85-99 lots of jpn toyota car yards /websites do this by updated the fron end with post 99 bits

If you can post up some pics it would help us help you mate

Is it a wide bodied model? If so the chassis rails in the engine bay are further apart and so will the inner fenders.
It maybe possible but a lot of work would be involved

The 79 series is a pickup but came in the wide body and a narrow body pre 06
A narrow body should be a straight bolt up

The truck I saw is like this one:

It has a 1HZ diesel engine. I'll try to find out if it fits soon because I need to remove the side wings when working on the front suspensions (I want to install coil springs).
