Selling by beloved 78’ FJ40. I had all intentions of keeping the vehicle forever, but I just don’t have the time to appreciate it for what it is. I bought it approximately 4 years ago from the second owner in Portland with 150k +/- on the clock. It spent much of its life traveling in E Oregon and Idaho on the highways throughout the 80’s and it is now just sitting in my shop in Sisters Oregon (just outside of Bend). It is in excellent shape for the year. The rig is as 99.99% rust free and pristine as they come. All original throughout, down to the paint. The vehicle retains ALL the stock smog equipment and runs excellent. The specifics of the vehicle:
Drivetrain:
-All stock.
-Warn hubs, 4x4 works great, shifts like a dream.
-Less than 2,000 miles on 4 new BFG 33x9.5 tires mounted to powdercoated (stock color) OEM welded rims.
-Engine is completely stock. New waterpump and belts about 2,000 miles ago.
-100% intact and complete smog equipment and carb rebuilt by JimC. Runs like a top and gets 13-16 mpg. All vacuum lines were replaced with new tubing.
-Front and Rear drive lines have all new universals joints and drive lines have been balanced.
-Original steering with new OEM/Japanese ball joints from cruiser outfitters. Handles/drives like an absolute dream, no slop and tracks straight down the freeway.
Interior:
-Stock everything down to the original floor mats.
-Seats are in great shape for the year, one small tear along a seam in the driver seat.
-Stock roll bar.
-Stock seat belts.
Heater works great.
-After market stereo.
-Stock jump seats with seatbelts.
Exterior:
-Paint is all stock and in good shape.
-Headliner in good shape, fiberglass top in good shape and all the glass is perfect.
