My 85 FJ60 is running awful . I did a compression test and only got between 95 and 100 psi across . It's a California 2F with all the emission stuff on it. I have a low mileage 78 2F out of my 45 pickup that I was thinking about swapping for the 85 2F. It has no smog on it at all because it's Canadian. I won't need the smog pump and I could live without the AC if I had to. Can I use the water pump and crank pulleys from the 85 on the 78 motor? I think I'll need to mount the PS pump where the alternator is(low on the drivers side) and move the alternator to the other side . I know it's kind of a weird swap but I'm trying to buy some time until I can rebuild my diesel and get it in . I'm trying to put this together out of the parts I have on hand.
Has anyone done a swap like this or know of problems with what I'm trying to do? thanks, Pete

You already identified the issue I was going to point out - no mount for PS pump. So if you don't need the air pump, you could buy a PS pump mount from Lance or Jim C that mount the PS pump where the air pump used to live. That way you can leave the alt in place, and you should be able to mount the AC compressor off the engine mount I believe...

Good luck!

Thanks PabloCruise,
How can I get a hold of either Lance or Jim C to find out about brackets?
Pete
