For Sale '77 FJ40 in AZ

Runs great with a new carb rebuild, but needs springs (left rear) and a straighter steering rod (operable). This was a ranger vehicle in CO, was painted forest green with a solid tan hard top for that.

The only changes from stock are armored brackets around the front turn signals (I'll miss those), a larger front bumper (nearly covers the span of the truck), and 31" tires (BFG ATs and a ProComp).

This 40 handled a 7-rated trail (to the coke ovens at Florence, AZ) on my first off-roading trip. It has very little rust, and has a new set of gears up front.

It'll hurt to let it go, but I need something bigger. I'm asking $5,000.

Needs to have a price and pics or the moderators will delete your ad.

I've also sent you a pm.
Are you willing to ship?
Chris

sent you a pm.

My truck needs registration, is in the shop for the carb work I had done (didn't pass the idling test).

My mechanic says that it isn't safe to drive until the springs can be replaced, which will run a couple of grand. It has a pronounced lean to the left, after a year of only a little leaning. Technical questions should go to him, Mike at Toy Specialists, 480-969-3320.

The inside is fine, with very little ripping to the seats, only normal staining. It has the inward bucket seats in the back.

It has the 2F motor and a 4spd, and the only off-roading damage is has is to the long bolts on the suspension. The buyer needs to be able to ship it, tow it, or finish the leaf spring repairs.

Finally, I should mention that it doesn't have turn signals, an electrical problem.

I've answered the questions from all PMs in my last post. Call my mechanic at the number I've already given for more information. He's selling it for me, so help him earn his percentage.

I don't appreciate your negativity, buddy. Anyone who has a problem with me can reach me at 480-227-2557 (Mesa, AZ). There, smell a little better?

My mechanic is selling my FJ40 for me because I sleep until noon, being a night worker; but go ahead and leave me a message so that we can clear up any misgivings.

After answering all questions from the original PMs in my second post, I've called all respective buyers and either chatted with them or left a voicemail message. Good enough? I think so.

For any prospective buyers out there. The seller has not returned my PM nor have I had any contact with seller whatsoever. This may be ligit, but he has misrepresented talking to me or leaving a message in the above post.

This pic shows the towing hooks the CO rangers installed, and the new lights I added. The brown paint is rust-proofing that I did to protect it (was showing a few spots).

A naturally dirty engine, of course.

Needs a better battery bracket, yeah.

And a new intake hose too.
