Hey all,
I'm building a 75 chinook in Rockaway for dirty travels. I've done an sas swap on the original frame with elockers front and rear. Drivetrain get's mocked up next. More to come.

Do you have any other pics (inside)?

The inside is gutted, so unfortunately there's nothing to look at. I'll eventually redesign the interior with more headroom and hopefully a better layout. Right now I'm just trying to get it rolling again. This weekend I got spring attempt #2 in with an elocker 4runner rear. The rears are 52" Chevys. Not much else will fit the stock frame and these worked all right. I'm waiting until the drivetrain is mocked up to tack the spring perches in.

This is mocked up at final ride hight with 35s. One of the worst things about the chinook is that if you're tall your head hits the overhang above the door (my excuse for big tires, lol). I'm happy to say that won't be a problem anymore. My girlfriend is going to need a step to get in but every build has it's compromises.

I got this in the mail about a month ago from Dave's offroad and finally have it ready to go on the motor.

The motor is going to be a 1.9 TDI PD150. I got an adapter from TDconversions.com so that's in the works as soon as it isn't 9 degrees outside.

Very cool, I’m looking forward to watching your build.

Nothing much to report. I've been busy with work and have been mucking around with fitting the motor and transmission. I had to chop out the transmission tunnel and I've got a crossmember coming from Budbuilt next week. Hopefully I'll have the drivetrain mocked up by May 1st. Fingers crossed.

Looks like an awesome project. Nice motor choice. Check out my build in my signature if you need some light reading(mostly pictures-we love pictures on here) Lol. Keep up the good work.

Super cool project man, look forward to seeing this one get finished!

I like it. A lot.

Quick question - when you welded on your front spring hanger did you just run one long bead?
