When pulled in, new diafram tends to take on wave or ripple shape. No sharp folds.
There might be a market for $ 200 aereospace grade convoluted diaphragm with 100 year warranty.

Yeah that is pretty much what my Secondary Diaphragm looked like too. Now that you got the new one on and everything do the paperclip test to see if it is engaging. Some have found that the carb doesn't pull enough vacuum for the new diaphragm, making it so that it does not want to work properly. This can be resolved by installing a lighter spring in the diaphragm (think it was @OSS that did the write up on it, or was it @White Stripe).

I followed @roadstr6 direction on the lighter spring.

I reamed out 0.024" orifice to 0.038". That ought to help.
