History: Royal Rose bought this truck back in 1992 from the FBI, and wheeled the hell out of it in the Utah desert. He did the Cummins conversion, and half the other work which was visionary at the time.

I bought the truck in 2004 and put in the ranger, alcans, hyrdoboost, FF, and 16” rims. While Royal made a family crawler out of the truck, I took it more expedition- I’ve driven it from California to Canada for wheeling and various trips. In the 30,000 miles I put on it, I had no major issues other than those associated with driver error. I put on a full length rack which cut my mileage, but the truck is capable of a comfortable 70mph and 17-20 mpg. It loves biodiesel.

I sold it in 2007 to Mike. Mike’s a young diesel nut and has been studying diesel mechanics in school, but while he likes the truck he wants to get out of it. He and his mother Berna put four new tires on it, otherwise he hasn’t touched it or driven it too much.

This is a truck I wouldn’t hesitate getting in a driving it across the country (which I did 4 times up and down the West in time I owned it). It comes with a manual for the engine and a part listing as well. I never had problems getting parts, other than waiting a little. While I had to wait for the glow plugs a few times, I never once used ether to start it. It did it on its own.

What it needs: some sheetmetal love, and a new turn signal system. The tail gate is finicky, but works. I replaced some of the metal in the upper rockers before I sold it to Mike, and it needs some of that finished. Parking brake prefers not to work.

Truck is outside of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Edit: Price is what I paid for the truck, plus a fullfloater, ranger overdrive, new tires, new rear springs, new injector pump, and a bit more rust.....

I am in Central Asia, have limited email access, and might not get back to you for a week if there’s no electricity or there is an internet connection problem. DON’T PM ME, but feel free to email me (steen.wy(at)gmail.com) if you have any questions, but please try the owner first. Thanks!

I saw the rig today. If anyone wants to know what it looks like let me know. It runs great and would make someone a great PIG.

OOPS, almost forgot to mention it has new wheels and tires.

You probably can't even get the engine and drivetrain for this price, and with new wheels....So it's a deal, someone will be on it soon!

5k for that!!!

Wish I had the cash b/c it's worth every dime!!!!

LONG LIVE THE :pig:!!! (I know, I know a little over dramatic....what can I say I love the Pigs!:grinpimp:)

Good luck man!

What do the rear quarters, corner, and floorboards look like? How is the interior?

I have a 71 project I could abandon and slap the good doors, fenders, hood...on if the bones arent too bad.

This a a sweet piece of pork with a great history. I may have to figure out how to sleep in the back because my wife throws me out but some things are worth sleeping in the garage for a couple weeks for! Actually if I got rid of my 55 and the 60 I could have this.

posedion,

I saw the rig on Friday and it appears to be in good mechanical shape. The left rear is dented and has some rust at the bottom. The front fenders have a repair on both sides where the typical rust happens. as for the floor boards I looked under it and didn't see anything, but you can always call Berna and she will be straight with you.

Great people selling this, they are not wheelers so the rig has been spoiled to an easy life since ridgerunner sold it to them.

For sure worth the money, I had some pics email to me, but I just picked up another tacoma. I'll forward the pics to anyone interested. Maybe help them out with not having to try and shoot out multiple emails with pictures.

Can you shoot me some pics on my e-mal. Very interested, just figuring how I can get from Seattle out there with all the stufff I have going on. robotaylor@comcast.net

Why is this for sale now? I am in the market for one but really in 2 months at that price. It is exactly what i would get. This is a great deal. That engine is a total workhorse and hugely popular as a diesel swap.

WOW, I remember wishing for that rig back in the LCML days!! if my wife wouldn't kill me.

is this still available, been looking for a pig, this is a good deal I hate that it is across the country, but I have a friend dricing from portland to Royston, maybe they could pick it up and trailer it for me,,,, email me some pics someone,,, bob dot C dot adamson@gmail.com
