1972 FJ55 for sale in California- $6000.

Unknown milage. Motor swap done two years ago to a Throttle Body Fuel injected SBC350. Runs excellent. Approx 14 mpg. Ranger Overdrive and mid 80’s H42 with rebuilt split case transfer case. Brand new fj60 radiator. Driveline mounted disc parking brake. 4 wheel disc brakes. Stock diffs. 4 inch Old Man Emu lift kit, spring under axle. BFG T/A 33-10.50’s on 15 inch steel wheels. Tires in great condition, rotated frequently. Toyota Mini truck power steering and Delco PS pump. Stock front and rear bumpers. IPOR sliders.
Aftermarket front sway bar. Rear and front sway bars set up for quick detachment for wheeling. Interior roll cage. 4 retractable seat belts. Corbeu bucket front seats and console. CD player and 4 speakers. CB radio.
Fair headliner with some holes, needs stock glove box door and new speedo. Has some minor damage to the door and rear cargo panels but mostly they are in great shape, excepting the fact that speakers are mounted in them.
Has rust in the insides of the rockers, rear body mount (pass side only) and in front upper passenger fender and lower drivers side fender. A few bubbles around the rear drivers rear fender. Newish paint job by PO included bondo over the rust spots. (not my work!). Note, there are 8 bolts on the rear quarter panel that the PO left in place and painted over. I suspect these were two Gerry can mounts, but I have never taken them out as I don’ t want to have to patch the paint. No rust around these holes.
Some photos show a snorkel. I still have it but decided I liked the more stock look so I removed it.
Does not have any rust in the roof or floors!! Does have a lot of Dynamat on the floors and cargo area which deadens sound, but an inspection of these areas for rust can be done from below.
Roof rack is included. Folding steps installed on rear passenger side for roof access.
This rig runs excellent and will easily cruise at 75-80 ( 2700 rpm at 75) down the highway and wheels just like a stock LC.
My family has loved this rig for several years but it is time to move on and this is not an easy sell. We love cruisers and know how rare 55’s are, but also are trying to be reasonable with the sale price, knowing how much has gone into this ( $10k at least). I have personally done all the work to this rig that is listed here. I have done this work to my personal standards. This means that there will be elements that others will not like, but that is life. Everything I have added to this cruiser was done with safety and comfort for my family and myself in mind.

I travel frequently for work so please be patient if I don’t respond the same day you email. More photos available upon request. Please be actually interested if you request specific photos and I am happy to post more here as I can. Thanks!!

All,
I am trying to respond to messages but I am in Boreno with crappy internet. I will be home on Monday and can send photos etc then. Please be patient. Thanks!

I can be reached by cell phone starting on Monday the 21st at 530-525-2232. I have had a lot of interest via emails. Please text me on Monday to reconfirm your interest and what pictures you would like to see. I am not very internet savvy, so I will probably not set up a photo bucket ( or whatever) for this sale. I will be able to email a zip file of relevant photos to you. Thanks again for all the interest.

To all interested parties, I am now back in town and ready to answer any questions. 530-525-2232.

I have decided to drop the asking price to $6000 OBO. I'm motivated to get it sold since a recent slide on my property had left a smoking crater in my bank account.

Bump. Did you get the fuel filter issue sorted out?

Confirmed on fuel filter issue. It was the tank blowing rust. I went ahead and removed the tank, re coated it with the POR80 and reinstalled. It solved it.

Deposit accepted and sale pending to "Captain" Morgan there.

Sigh..... I"m going to regret this I think....

BUT... I'll probably be itchy for another project within a year.

Thank goodness.
I was getting close to selling my 100 and use this instead...
