Need help, brakes are requiring 2 pumps to work. First pump goes to floor and nothing. Brake booster has been replaced, lines flushed and bled. They work great with 2 pumps, but ??? Any advice or how to diagnose? Thanks:doh:

read through some of the posts on how to adjust the wheel cylinders. Even if they are close it takes 2 pumps to get them to operate. they have to be dead on. There are 2 wheel cylinders per wheel and if you adjust those wrong you can warp your drum. Some guys sware by the old drums but I swapped my front axle to a mini disc setup. You will not regret it and it's not that hard...

Agreed on adjusting.
Adjust each wheel until the shoes drag a little.
Back the truck down the drive and forward again while lightly applying the brakes. This will help center the shoes.
Lift the truck and spin the wheels. You should notice the shoes no longer drag.
Start the adjusting process over. It's a little tedious but It will finally get there.
Remember it's a small master trying to fill eight slaves so the tolerance at each shoe is tight.

They need adjusting.

The proper way to adjust them is to tighten the adjuster until you can't turn the wheel. This is important because it centers the shoe in the drum. Then back off on the adjuster 3-4 clicks until you can jerk the wheel through 1 complete revolution. The brakes will make a dragging noise, but this is normal.

thanks you guys, I am planning on swapping axle out for a 60 with disc in the front sometime when funds are better. I will adjust as you all recommended.
