hi ,

i am looking for several good close up photos to determine the exact location of the reverse back up light lamp on the driveers side on a 72 and older usa spec FJ40 to cut the square hole in a new reproduction steel tub 1/4 panel

thanks

There's a couple info tidbits here

To my knowledge up to 9/73 has the same opening. 73 fits flush on the back but has the same oval hole for a recessed light. I used my 73 reverse light in my 68 until some kids broke the lens when it was parked in the driveway. This the opening in my 2/73.

This currently is the only one in the 68-73 year range I am around.

I have a question, I have a 68 and 70 but do not remember the spot welded backing plate. May be a month or more before I can check them. So was this a 73 only plate with the large reverse light, a 72/72 with the thinner metal on the tub or am I just not remember this plate. Thinking only the narrow strip on each side to back up the nut like the side clearance light?
