71 FJ40 Rear Fuel Tank Options

I want to remove my front tank under the passenger seat. What are my options for a rear tank? I have a fill point for the rear already. Is there a stock tank for another vehicle that will mount easily?

I found www.sunsetmetalfab.net. They have a tank with skid plate to fit 40's up to 1980 for $869.00.

Steel tanks are not as strong as the nylon tank Mark sells. During laboratory testing the steel tank ripped open, and the nylon tank merely dented. Plus the nylon tanks have no seams/welds to become a problem. Just saying.

Search MUD... IIRC (edit) mid (edit) 90s Chevy S10 tank’s will fit... available at junk yards.

Note: with the S10 option, you will NEED to come up with a skid plate to protect the tank... this is why I elected to go with a used 22 gal Confer-like, but prob homemade, tank and skid plate from @orangefj45 .

way back in the late 80's I installed a Confer? rear tank and the 1 of the bottom seems leaked after 1 year.
flashback for the oldies here, it was bought from Ozone off road , Larry Kushner?
