I don't want to spend $500 to $700 to put fuel in my FJ40. I an looking foe a cheaper route.
Does any one use a fuel tank out another car or truck that fits good?

Thanks

So why are you not going with a regular FJ40 tank?

I don't want the fuel under the seat my wife will be riding in and the tank that was in the 40 has been patched twice. I all so plan to use the space under my wifes seat to make a storage compartment.

Personally I'm going to run a fuel cell with foam, the 74 sitting in the garage needs a new tank and my newer OEM one (thank you again PO) will be going to it so for the price I'd rather go ahead and mount a nice cell.

Then there is always my choice, see ebay #253750576879, but Mud guys do not have to buy on ebay. This choice lets you run fuel cell foam if you want, has an in-tank fuel pump option if you want, and the tank won't ever rust- - -easy deal.

A brand new replacement from Toyota is still the cheapest route. I have never known of anyone who had a factory tank explode or catch fire
that was properly installed or maintained. I've ran on factory underseat tanks that were in since the day they hit the showroom without incident.
The only truck fires I've had was a 1990 Chevy 1/2 ton that came from the factory with faulty fuel lines that were run under the distributor.
There was a brief period they went from steel to braided stainless with teflon liners. Quite a few had pinholes that directed a fine mist of gas into the vents of the distributor. Lots of insurance settlements followed.
@beno may still be able to quote a price on the factory tank

I'm an idiot I guess. Tell me EXACTLY how to find the item you noted in your post. Thanks
