Well, I have had a very bad week.:crybaby:
I have sustained an injury (hip injury) that is preventing me from working on my cruiser. While I was leaving the doctor's office, my 1994 s-10 blazer's tranny went out:mad:, leaving me without a vehicle. I am going to have to sell my 71 fj40 for whatever I can so I can afford to buy a useable 4x4. (My wife has wanted me to sell my "toy project" for years, and now I am forced to face the fact that it is in my best interest).

So...up for sale is my 1971 FJ-40 land cruiser. I bought this in 2005 in the hopes of owning and building up a cruiser. It had a 1F, 3spd/transfer case( I still have these parts). It was manual steering. The seats sucked. The cage sucked. So I tore out the interior, ordered a Metaltech cage, bought fold-down jump seats and nice buckets for up front, sanded down the interior and added a 2-stage spray-in bedliner.

You can see pictures of this here https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/145509-interior-bedliner-spray-finished.html

I have the long-range tank for behind the rear axle, w/sender.

I swapped in front disk brakes, rebuilt the front knuckles, added an Ausse locker in the front, and did a U-bolt flip on the front axle.

I also put in the Monte rear disk brakes, added an Ausse locker in the rear, and changed the axle seals while I was there. I bought the calipers new, and the roters new.

I have some stainless lines for the front, and replaced some of the brake hoses as well. I added a master cylinder from an FZJ80 that had 4 wheel disk brakes to match the 4 wheel disk brakes the fj40 now has.

I added power steering using a Scout II setup. Pitman arm from a jeep, and I had the drag bar made to match (I cant remember who made it, but it was someone here on this forum).

The frame is in good condition, some surface rust, but nothing bad at all. I will post up pictures of it later.

The body had been redone by a body shop in 2000 or 2001 and they used alot of bondo. This is your typical early 70's body. I always like the camo look, so I started using the camoclad to cover the body. Here is a thread that shows how this turned out.

I have added a MetalTech stinger front, and metaltech tube fenders. I also added inner fenders to the tube fenders.

comes with 5 speed H55f/split case. (not installed)
I also have the correct crossmember to bolt this into the cruiser.
3F bellhousing,2F flywheel, clutch and pressure plate, fork, ect.

comes with complete 3FE, harness, computer, ect.(I just tore this motor down last week to begin to rebuild it, I was going to punch it and put in new pistons, ect.)

Basically, this is a half finished project. I am unable to finish it, and must sell.:crybaby:

I really don't know how to price this, as I know I will never get out of it what I have in it. I guess I have close to 6-7K invested in it. I know I can't get that out of it....How does $4000 sound?

I am located in West Frankfort, Illinois (SOUTHERN Illinois)

I forgot to mention that I have a besttop top and soft doors; I also have some VERY NICE hard top doors, and alot of the hard top pieces.....the top itself, the two sides (no glass). One of the soft doors was kinda bent some when I bought it, and i have never tried to fix it, since I had the hard doors.

Here are some pictures showing the metaltech fenders on the 40 and the metaltech cage/seats in the 40.

Notice I have the older style round marker lights installed under the bib. I was planning on putting dual filiment bulbs in these to also act as turn signals.
