71 74 Differences (1 Viewer)

Hello,

Sold my 72 fj40 in AUG 04. I almost cried.






Just picked up a 71 and a 74. The 74 was a local deal, whereas the 71 is being shipped.

Besides the 4speed tranny, what else is different?

steering column and gears are different

fuel door on 74, not on 71

Ignition key on dash of 71, and in column on 74

Rear tail lamp assemblies.

Seats. Bench in 71 buckets in 74

column shift on 71( stock ) floor on 74

split hood on 71, one piece on 74

driveshaft ujoints are larger on 74, as is bolt pattern and fastener

small jump seats in rear on 74, larger on 71
