My 700H Overtrail is finally ready for some long trips.

After removing the third row it took me some time to sort out a Drawer and Fridge rack system for the back of the vehicle. Not being able to remove the second-row seats I had to find a way to make maximum use of the cargo space in the back. I worked with Air Down Gear Up in Colorado to create a system which I am very happy with. Pictures follow. Some highlights. They designed their own brackets and created a new solid floor over over the battery using the stock attachment points where the 3rd row seat bolted to the vehicle. The system is then mounted to that using every bit of available space. The build is solid with ZERO noise or rattles even on rough washboard. A metal fridge rack allowed me to mount two Renogy solid state batteries in front of the Fridge to power the fridge and other accessories. The pull-out trays under each drawer provide the working space I was used to in my 100 series. It is not a tail gate but goes a long way to fill the need. The quality and attention to detail is exceptional.

Nice drawer set up. Any issues with the hybrid battery vents?

Sorry if veering off a bit, but I see you still have the Toyo OEM tires. How are they behaving off-roading? Are you airing down for trails? I have a trip to Sedona in a week and have been debating keeping them or changing to something more robust. Mine have only about 6kmiles on them and look ok in terms of thread. TIA

Why are you unable to remove the second-row seats? I'm considering an LX for long-term travel, but it's only if the second row can be removed.
The seats are heated, ventilated and have air bags in them. I am sure it is possible to disconnect all these features, however, I do not believe it would be without its complications. On my 100 series the second row come out by just removing 4 bolts. That is the difference.

I have found that the Toyo tires perform well. I air down as appropriate and have installed an ARB brushless compressor to make that process easy. When the tires get worn, I will likely replace them with something else, but have not found the need to do so early. Other tires might look better, but that is not my motivation.

Thanks. I just noticed you live there! :D Planing to do Broken Arrow and Schnebly Hill. Have you tried those? Any reason to believe I won't make it unscathed?

Where’d you install the compressor? Torn between finding a place to hard mount it or just put the compressor in a box.

Question on removing third row…how easy was it?

I’m looking at getting a 700h but have absolute no need for the 3rd row and lack of cargo room.

Is the floor flat with the seats removed? And would a simple rubber cargo mat covering be sufficent to keep it tidy and nice?

Is there a reason why you wouldn't just order the 2 row version?

My dealer has a OT in stock, and was curious if the 3rd row could be removed before having to order. The sales person is telling me you can't get without a third row, since it's not buildable on Lexus's site...

Both easy if you proceed carefully.

My feeling is that if your future plan involves drawers getting a 3-row at a discount because it's sitting on the lot seems like a great idea. ADGU says they've got something and I expect goose gear to follow suit eventually if you didn't want to DIY.

Your salesperson is lying or doesn't know. Several people have two rows here, and you can build it on the site.

That being said you never know how things change. We ordered our 2-row at the end of October '25 and it arrived early Feb '26. The order needs to be 'accepted' by Lexus so maybe they aren't accepting 2-row configs right now.

Yep. I don't know where you are located in Texas, but if you are near SA, just go to NorthPark Lexus and look for Jose Castro. He is great to work with and I ordered my 2-row there last year. Unless Lexus somehow put a hold on 2row orders that I do not know about, you should be able to order one. My wait time was approximately 3 months. If I were you, I would avoid messing up with trying to remove the third row. There are plenty of electronics these days and it is nothing like used to be with the 200 and 100 series.

45 minutes to pull. Check out my post history for photos.
