Greetings - I’m trying to find an insulated mat that will fit over the gearbox and transmission case (from inside the cab) to help deal with the heat which in 35+ degrees is quite uncomfortable .

I seem to remember ASW had one fitted to his older trophies that slipped over the whole of the gearbox and footwellls. Can’t find it though and would be grateful for any recommendations.

I'm hoping this helps in mine.

I used some Luxury Liner Pro (mass loaded vinyl) from Second Skin. That was on top of some spray in Spectrum sound deadener from Second Skin as well. Substantial reduction in noise and heat. Laid OEM vinyl mat on top of the mass loaded vinyl.

Nice install, and I'm hoping to do the same. Do you recall how many sheets of the Luxury Liner Pro you used?

I bought the four sheet option due to the price savings and thinking I would utilize it in more places, which I did not fully in the end. Two sheets would probably close, three will more than cover the area.

Gorilla tape is what is needed to join seams. You can trim the foam from the under side to not double up on the thickness where they overlap or where necessary e.g., under the feet of the seat.

I also used some remnants in the back before laying down my subfloor for the rear build out. It was a full Spectrum spray and some Luxury Liner to add some extra sound dampening and some insulation value, yet (hopefully) allow some air channels for mitigating any moisture build-up/mildew issue.

Second Skin does regularly run 20% off deals, so if you are not in a hurry, might pay to wait for a discount code to pop up. Labor Day would probably be the next sale. Great people to deal with. Customer support and honesty about the products actual usage was better than I found with similar companies. Made in the USA is a bonus too.

In the doors I used their Damplifier Pro. I ran short of the Damplifier Pro in one of the rear doors and bought some 80 mil Noico from Amazon (ironically made in Russian) and there was no comparison in how the two products compared. It was such a small section I wasn't worried about it, but grateful I did prolly 98% of it in the Damplifier Pro.
