70 series seat bottom seat foam (1 Viewer)

So while I am in Europe I stopped by a upholstery shop that does amazing work and I know the owner for years . Besides seeing the rare classics I was surprised to see that he had new reproduction 40 series bottom foam cushions made for a customer . I know that for our pre 2006 70 series the bottom cushions are nla and I was wondering if there was any interest/desire to get these ? This is not a cheap repro nor fast . Lead time would be 6-8 months as the shop that actually forms these is booked for that long . If this is something viable I would need to have 30 sets made and if that quantity is doable the cost for each cushion would probably be around 175$ , not cheap but making the mold and fabricating them is very labor intensive apparently.

After being heavily invested in the 70 series I would say that there is one model seat in roughly 80% of all 70 series and as luck happens I was just able to pick up a near perfect set from a freshly wrecked but otherwise pristine lj73 in France .

I am not doing this to make money as there simply is none to be made with these small quantities but more as a community service , I have enough sets used foam for my personal use but have been asked about foam and I am not selling any of my private stock .

This is the seat model I am talking about , these came in grey and brown anf in both vinyl and cloth upholstery.

I can bring these in to be used for the example for the mold .

I would certainly be interested Joe but I have the wider passenger side seat (split bench).

Would also love to find some new foam for my ‘83 Troopy with the split bench seats as I have new repo skins - just in case you run into a set collecting dust somewhere.
