Does anyone know if the difference in fuel tanks for the 70 series fuel tanks.

How different are the long wheel base LJ78 fuel tanks different to the KZJ70/LJ70 tanks?

The fuel tanks behind the rear axle are the same for all 70s AFAIK,only the filler neck varies in diameter for different fuels

For the LJ78 & LJ70 there are 4 different tanks are mentioned:-

77100 TANK ASSY, FUEL
77100-60280
77100-60290
77100-60905
77100-60919

For the KZJ70 the tank is 77100-60917, is there a different EPC and toyodiy are unclear.

Surely there must be a difference, all these 4 tanks are for diesel engines.

fuel tanks are all the same size, venting ports differ for different markets.

90 liters is stated volume.

Are they all the same size? Would a LWB fit a SWB and vicer versa?

Yes ,they should do.
They all sit in the same place behind and above the rear axle. As pointed out there are differences with the fuel filler and venting ports but the tank is the same size and shape.
The heavy duty long wheel base models use them as an auxillary tank and have another different shaped main tank behind the drivers seat.
I guess the Saudi SWB V8 diesel models would also be still be using them but I think the LWB V8 models are now using a single 150 litre tank, like the Prado with its single 130 litre tank as they become more girly

If the SWB and LWB have the same tanks then that would explain the gap between my rear bumper and fuel tank on my HZJ77. I noticed even on the prados that Toyota put a little compartment in that space.

They are all sharing the same part number of 77100-60280. If you put that into google ,you will see it fits quite a few landcruisers incluiding the LJ78 and KZJ70.
I haven't come across a major component that is so interchangeable across the entire 7* series range.
This is because the floor and chassis design changed very little over the 30 years of 7* series production.
Im sure it will fit but unless you have done it ,it is foolish to say it is 100% definite.
Are you buying one unseen?
