I drool over OEM snorkels. That said, I have no need. I am a realist. Not a "throw s*** on my truck because I saw it on Reuters because MSF trucks had them on".....

Happy to get you the parts needed to mate that with the air filter box (depending on where the hell it is going to be installed Rob. :) )

That is indeed a snorkel for the newest body style (2007 up), but you can find them for the previous body style without a hassle.

I don't think a connection from the airbox to that unit will be particularly difficult, it is made with OEM hardware after all..

Bear in mind, these aren't made for water crossings, they're made for dusty conditions. If you go in a deep water crossing, the snorkel will draw water in through the division in the middle of the snorkel. You can effectively seal that division, if needed.

A friend of mine drowned his 2007 70 series w/ factory installed snorkel a few weeks ago because of this, and he was previously warned and told to seal it beforehand.

The connection pieces are all still available, shouldn't be an issue there. The narrow body OE Snorkel is still available complete, you could likely find a home for the wide body with one of the Proffits 79's if you're after the earlier model.

Come on Beno, drill a hole :D

I may be in the minority here, but I actually want to remove my snorkel. Just not bad enough to pay for a new fender however.

That's a newer body style if you did not already know

Yep.

We fit it up against a BJ74 and it looked good and seem to fit well..

Beno, you asked where I would mount it.....after much thought I think the the top cap mounted on the roof and run a dryer hose to the intake through the interior..that should look OKo_O

Ping me with parts and pricing please..

Beno could get me an old style snorkel and cnnction kit?

I'll be totally honest I'm a sucker for "Snorkel Lust" I just love em. I sit on the dust mitigation side of the isle as far as justification goes, but I dream of needing one for crossing rivers in South America. Though down on the priority list for my 74 I am intrigued by @ca18sean's replica factory one that has the Land Cruiser embossed on the side but is one piece. Not sure how the quality would compare to other aftermarket brands. OEM would of course be the best option but I like the one piece designs.

Seems to fit pretty well, and the connector they included looks just like the OEM rubber connector. I still need to modify my airbox because it is a non-snorkel airbox, but that's nothing a little welding won't solve!

If "NEED" was the driving factor, very few of us would have snorkels. Nor would we have brush bars , fancy rear bumpers that can hold 30 Jerry Cans, 33" Tires, and every other do-dad know to man. Let's not confuse "need" with "want".
**By most standards, I guess I'm one of those "throw sh*t on my truck because" kinda guys.
: )

The air has a really good chance to be cooler at the top of the snorkel vs. under the hood. Yes I to, dream of crossing river/streams up to the top of my hood. Without getting the interior wet of course.

But there is nothing about this truck that is a need at least in my case. It sure is a lot of fun though.
