*****SOLD*****
EDIT: Forgot to mention I also have a 4 spd bell housing w/ clutch fork...
Hey guys,
Trying to get my hands on some investment lake property and may need to sell my baby. I'm 90% sure she needs to go at this point. I've had her for 4 years now.
The Good:
'70 FJ40
2F from a '78 (recent Rebuild)
Weber Carb
Header
3 -4" Rancho lift - Springs, Shocks, Greasable shackles. (Not sure height exaclty.)
33 x 12.5 Swampers with a lot of tread left.
Black rash free rims.
Front Disc brake Conversion off a '77 w/ Proportioning valve to adjust the rear drums.
Aussie locker in the rear.
Nearly rust free tub (just rear sill).
Fold and tumble seat in back.
New starter.
New ignition switch.
Fresh plugs - wires - cap -rotor (still in box)
Paint is in really good shape.
The Bad
Bobbed front fenders (PO fit 38's) I do have spares though.
Tipped her on her side once, there is a slight tweak in rear of the tub.
Slight rust in rear sill.
Original wiring torn out by PO, Painless Harness installed. Electrically sound, wires are just a mess (Needs som loom).
Center of dash was cut at one point for a deck, covered over now.
General Info / Extras:
PO Claimed engine rebuilt when he had it, runs really strong so I believe him (Also I know and trust the guy). Been parked in my garage for a year and a half with tranny out of it awaiting 4speed swap and new clutch, but life and new babies got in the way...
I am currently planning on putting the 3spd back in with new rear main (doesn't need it), clutch, resurfaced flywheel, pilot bearing, etc to sell it. The rig ran great up until I tore it apart, clutch was starting to slip pretty bad. Shifted smooth (for a 3 speed) and was comfortable driving 50mph+ to work when I had the chance. Little steering slop, but no pulls and braked straight. Has some oil leak, pan I guess, but not bad enough to notice level drop between oil changes.
Currently has only a bikini top on it, though I will have a rust free, non-color matched hard top and doors / hatch by the time she sells which is included in the price.
If I get my full asking price I can include the following:
Soft top (Kayline I think) just missing screws.
Spare fenders off a '67.
FULL rear disk brake setup, ready to bolt on.
4 Speed transmission off '76 w/ bellhousing & fork
Transition gear to mate it to 3 speed Tcase - NIB
Drag link and pitman arm for PS conversion
Chopped metal half doors (need caps)
Price:
I'd like to get $4,400 especially with the extras included. I am open to reasonable offers. If you want to pay less, it just might come with less
. Check our my sig for some pics, and I'll get more up when I get a chance. I'm in Spokane, WA and would be willing to deliver a couple hundred miles on your gas and / or beer.
And please IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING CONSTRUCTIVE TO SAY, SAVE IT. I DON'T CARE IF YOUR SISTER'S BROTHER'S COUSIN'S DOG GOT ONE IN WAAAAAY BETTER SHAPE FOR $500.
Around here I could park it in front of a high school and some kid's parents would probably snatch it up for him for close to that price. I'd rather sell it to a mudder that will appreciate the extras.
Thanks!
