6bt in lv?

I am considering putting a 6bt with twin turbos in one of my lvs to use as a highway driver and tow vehicle. Pretty much my first venture out of the "stock" realm and I am not sure how the clearance will work out. Even though I will not be offroad and I am not staying stock, I don't want to be forced to lift more than 3". Anyone do a 6bt or 4bt swap?

do a search on pirate4x4 or here......If I remember correctly you may have to do a sprang over....same with the 4bt.

Cummins engines are very tall and you will most likely need a 4+ lift to fit either a 4BT or a 6BT into it.
A 6BT is WAY too heavy for that LV. Besides, you would have gobs of unused power in it. A 4BT would be a better choice.
Also, just because a 6BT in a Dodge can pull thousands of pounds, that does not mean that your LV can. Yes, it will pull it but is it safe at highway speeds? I pulled a 7500lb load with my 4BT FJ60 once and it pulled great. I took back roads the entire way and only went 35mph. But, even stopping it at that speed was a chore. I can't imagine going 65mph in it.
If you want a tow rig, buy a Cummins Dodge or a Duramax.
