For Sale 69 FJ40 in San Diego-$3500

Zero rot, uncut but has some random holes in the dash. I bought it as a runner with a bad 292 install to work on and get running for my son. I pulled the drive train and was going to put a 4.8 Vortec into it. We went a different direction, and we could be moving soon due to retirement from the Navy in a week. I paid ~$8000 for it and need $3500 out of the rolling chassis. It has stock axles, OME lift with zero miles (shocks and stabilizer still in boxes), 33" Toyo mud tires with zero miles, Jeep JK seats ready to fit to the ORTWTTW seat frame (needs tabs welded). It does NOT have engine, trans, or tcase. Install your engine of choice, some new radiator mount brackets and drive it. I have clean title and current registration in hand. Thanks for looking.

Hard top and doors included in the sale. Also included is a fresh powder coated heater box assembly, dash pads, roll bar and various other stuff. You can basically clean me out of all FJ40 stuff at the $3500 price. Please come and get it out of my driveway. Thanks.

All the complaining that goes on here on this site about people modifying uncut rigs with no rot, and no one has interest in this? Guess I'll just have to do what I originally intended to do with it...

Make an offer/bring cash, and take this thing out of my driveway, please.

ZERO mile 33" Toyo MTs
BNIB OME shocks and stabilizer
Complete hard top with no rot in good shape
Complete hard doors with no rot and good working order

Two sets of rear bench seats

BNIB AwlTEQ snorkel
2F valve cover
Pair of C6 Corvette exhaust manifolds
OTRATTW tube seat base
2012 JK seats in great condition
Two gas tanks in great condition

This thing has to go.

IF THE TUB IS MINT... ITS WORTH 3000 alone. b patient timing is everything.. some guy and his son will be looking for a project like this to do together.

The problem is that I retired from the Navy a couple of days ago and am facing relocation in the very near future. My kid's rig is almost done, and the longer this thing sits here, the higher the chance I am going to pilfer that hood and aprons for his project and put lower quality parts in their place. This thing really needs to go and has a list of great parts on it, and with it, for someone to use, sell spares, etc. I need it gone and will entertain offers. I don't have time to market/pack/ship individual parts, so please don't ask. Thanks.

I should add that I'm willing to entertain trades plus cash for any combination of the following items:

ARB locker for FJ60 axle
Soft top and bows
Twisted Stitch reclining suspension seats
Paint work on another FJ40 (must be in San Diego)
Custom fabricated trans tunnel/console for another FJ40
Racepak dash computer
Roll cage fabrication for another FJ40 (must be in San Diego)

Tools I'll consider:
20 ton hydraulic shop press
Vertical milling machine
JD2 model 32 manual bender with 1.75", 1.5" and 1" dies
GOOD TIG welder (preferably Miller)
GOOD 220V air compressor (Caison's/IR/etc)
Small metal working lathe (older USA made)
Good metal working band saw (older USA made)
Small sheet metal brake (Pexto/diAcro)
Small sheet metal shear(Pexto/diAcro)
Arbor press
Pneumatic bumper jack

I could do a straight trade of black powder coated Paki bows and a OCD reproduction OEM top (Sunbrella material)

Thanks for the offer, I'll keep it in mind.

i can fab up a cage or weld up a metal-tech diy cage which is a real nice option. heres mine with added removeable keyed adapters in my 40. also could do front or rear bumpers. i also have a jd2 with 2" and 1.5 dies. how long are you going to be in San Diego for tentatively? does your sons rig have front and rear bumpers???

I'm sending my number in a PM. Let's talk so you can come by the house and see what you're getting into. Haha. Thanks.
