So, I'm tearing apart another pig, (added to "my garage") and I've got a few complete sets of 69 axles hub to hub with functional "selectro" lockouts, and all the associated garbage that I have no use for. I know that the housings can be modded to fit the disk stuff, but I have a few sets of 78 axles with no home.

Before I exchange these for $ at the metal recyclers, is there anyone that collects/uses this stuff?

They have "some" use....

I had to talk myself out of grabbing them, centering the rear end, and swapping them into the 4runner. But by the time I'd be done with them I would have a a lot of work and some $ in them.

I was considering a cool glass coffee table/sculpture. Then I thought better of it.
I think If one more car part gets turned into furniture, things might get ugly.

Thanks..I'll post them in the for sale.

If you need it Todd I have an empty rear housing here. Soon to have a matching front.

Would any of these be useful in a SAS for a certain 97 4runner?

Yes actually. The LC front axles can be used in either pass side drop t-case and a drivers side t-case drop.

Cool... Let me know when you have the parts gathered up, and I'll drop off said vehicle

You seriously thinking about sasing the 97?

If so the LC axle is a great choice if you want to keep a drivers side drop.

I'm at somewhat of a standstill here with what can be done to the 4runner. It seems that I can:

A. Leave it alone and wheel the s*** out of it. Nothing really breaks, just bends

B. Get some 35's while doing a little trimming. I would need to dump money into gears for a weak front diff. while possibly breaking cv's and still having no front locker

C. SAS and duals. Save up money, spend it, and have a nice setup.

Interesting theory. Old square deal gumby really has me thinking now...

I seem to kick around the SAS idea once or twice a year, slap it around a few times, then have a few more drinks.

Maybe I should leave things alone, do the f150 tank swap, strengthen the rear control arms, and get a skidplate for the trans area thats been missing since my 2nd cliffs run. Those are the things that hold me up the most, and the hitch/bumper. (Thread officially hijacked)

sigh... What 85 mini are we talking about?

These wouldn't be one time use tornado magnet axles, would they?
