Hi All,getting a little closer to try and start her up! I have a few basic connections left.Accelerator & choke cable linkage,I don't know how to hook these to the carb. Some close up pics.would help alot. Also where does the wire on Solenoid valve on the carb.go,ground or to the coil?

Also Vacuum switching valve has a ground but no other connection.Looks like it may have snapped off,I never remember this connection before when I had it running.I am looking at the Haynes manual(I also have the F-eng. FSM).Pretty good pic.on the vac.routing.Still trying to figure out all the connections.

My clutch release cylinder also seems a little different to bolt to the engine.Seems as I may have my motor mount on wrong, the pics in the manuals don't show the way it bolts on.I have one bolt that I saved from my old F,do you use both holes or just the one.Looks like it lines up with the MM.

Thanks,John

Thanks,I may try to flip it over and see if the bolt pattern works, there is the spring to hook up also.It has a little 90deg.bracket that bolts on somewhere.I just was not paying attention when I took it apart, thinking i would remember.I did that with a ton of stuff!.
Anyway that will be a later thing to deal with,as it will prob.need replacing.I just really want to try and start it up soon!!!!

I will also have the brakes to deal with, thinking about a rear disc setup as I need a new master cylinder. So I will be doing the search to find a good MC/booster combo.I may go with the spacer to clear the firewall rib,or cut it off.But there is still stuff in the way for a booster. And I do not know if it will clear the carb.with the spacer or not.But that is a whole other can of worms!!!

The solenoid valve on the carb goes to the coil. I converted to a non-usa vacuum advance distributor, thus eliminating the VSV. I'll look in my FSM for some info. The clutch release cylinder bolts to the bell housing. It looks like you maybe missing a bracket. Mine bolts through my column shift linkage. I think the motor mount bolt is installed up side down-nut should be on top. I will try to get you a few pictures tomorrow to help clarify your questions. Brendon

I think your VSV only needs the one wire--whats the color code on it?

X 2 on the carb solenoid --you need 12 volts with the ignition on

Hey thanks for the replys BJEC69 & bsmith123.I am getting closer on my carb.as I started that other thread& found the PN# I was looking for.
As for the clutch slave cylinder,it seems like I have all the parts I am just not putting it together correctly.I did have the column shift linkage on there when I pulled out my old F for the newer one.I converted to the floor shift for my 3-sp.I do have the PN#10 bolted to the MM,it's on the wrong side? I took a pic.from under the truck looking up.I will post it up.

VSV just has the one black wire going out to a ground on the fender well.Looks like there is a spot on the end by the blk.wire where there was another metal tab that was broke off(see pic.).Maybe I should just convert to a non-usa vac. advance.I will do a search on that.
Thanks,John
