Here's a pic of my $20 Craigslist find.

It's a delmonico solid state am/fm record console.

Gonna pick it up after work tomorrow, hoping the guy honors his word and saves it for me!

My wife has been wanting one for awhile and I want to update an old one with new equip eventually, however this one has all working components including a mini 45 player!

Has anyone here retrofitted new components and speakers in one of these? Or recommend any forums or sites?

I know I haven't found some sweet vintage find but I like the look of it.
Be cool to hook up my iPod and play records that have been kicking around for years.

My dad made his own, very much like that one except in solid Walnut. Built the stereo from a Heathkit as I recall. Not sure what happened to it; he probably gave it away when we outgrew it.

A coworker has been looking for one and for so long have been inexpensive. Laely its been trendy with the hipsters to buy them so prices have been climbing.

He found one on CL in a retirement community and responded right away. He bought a cabinet that was in such great condition that it looked only a few years old when it was really decades old. The owner even furnished extra needles for the record player ...all for $45 bucks!

The one strange thing was the elderly gentleman was wearing a dress and had a stuffed bra on.
