If it is any point of reference, I had about $15K into my complete OEM restoration of my 2F. That includes machine costs for the block and head as well as a new OEM carby (discontinued) that was then desmogged by JimC and a new OEM dizzy assy (discontinued) that he recurved as well.

Every single nut, bolt and washer was new. All new rocker supports, arms, shaft, springs, all new gears, new crankshaft pulley, new 1.5mm over pistons, rings, all new main bearings, new con bearings, new con rods, new camshaft, new camshaft bearings, new alternator, new PS pump, new starter, smog pump delete and new bracket, new fan clutch, new fan, new water pump, all new hoses, even a new oil cooler.

Well that is just dumb. Fun, but dumb. Hope you got your money out of it.

If anyone sees a used 2F efi system I may put that in the next motor.

There is no logic for someone like me with a Toyota Land Cruiser.

And that's the way I wanted it. Regardless of whether it was dumb or not.

Did I get my money out of it? Nope. Did I expect to? Nope.

I did the carb and dissy through Jim C and he does great work. Glad I did it. I haven't been able to enjoy them that long since my head gasket started leaking. Now that it's all back together. I plan to rack up some miles.

Grogan- highly recommend you do this if you are staying on the 2F path.

BTW- any money put into OEM parts is not wasted $$; those new parts will last longer than we care.
I am an anti yellow bowtie govt motors guy

Trust me seeing things from my side you would be amazed- we could offer one product to American OEM and save them over $1million savings in year....
They wouldn't even return my calls or emails- said they were sticking with their sources.

Wonder if the guy they rented that 62 from was pissed about the guy sitting on the hood?
