I have the one out for you. It is from a August of 1988. I put it right beside my February 1990 truck and both were the same.

Just got the ComboLock in, man this is sucky. I'm sure it works fine but its too tall so it won't be flush with the lid so it will be exposed instead of hidden under a console liner. I'll also have to make a specific cam for it because it doesn't come with a height I need. Its Made in China which blows but its not exactly garbage, just not...well, nice. I need to hunt down other options if combo locks are that important to some of you.

I also got in the hinge that I might be using. Now that I have it here I think I may go up a gauge or two and make it at least 1.2" wide wing instead of 1/4". I experimented with the spot welding a bit by changing up the timing and proximity to edge. I suppose I should do that chisel test but if I'm doing the hinge under the lid then there is no point doing that test.

So just some updates on the overall design. Even though I'm not currently working on the 60 or 62 consoles for production right this moment, there are a few things that have been changed on the 80 Series production that will affect the 60/62 LockBoxes:
First, lookie what I just picked up!

I was playing around with my mock-up and I got to thinking. Since the lid will be opening up and towards the back of the console (rear of the truck) I got to thinking about lifting the lid. No way in hell do I want to add a finger hole. I considered just using the key as the handle itself but then started wondering about the lid falling closed, especially if its on a decline. Not the end of the world and definitely useable. But I wanted something little more so I ordered up set up spring loaded hinges that are spring open. This way the lid stays open unless you want it pushed closed. I could also get spring closed that basically always tries to shut closed but I don't see that as being as useful. Since the hinges get spot welded AFTER the box and lid production I have some time to decide.

Alright guys, this isn't for the 60 or even 62 consoles...yet, but wanted you guys to see the progress on the 80 Series LockBox and LockingLid for the Fire Extinguisher Mount. After I finish making all of my mistakes on the 80 Series side then I will start the production for either the 60, 62 or 100 Series LockBoxes. I have to follow the cash flow so whichever I can get the more interest and orders (GroupBuy if I need to) then that is the LockBox that I put into production next.

Ok guys, two versions of the 80 Series LockBoxes have been shipping to full affect. The LX Lockbox is being proto'd right now and, because of interest/demand, the early 100 Series LockBox is going into prototyping next. I need to decide between the early 60 or late 60/62 LockBox immediately after. What say you folks? Still interest in seeing this come to life?

My 80 loves its box. (So does my little Sig .380.) My 62 is jealous and insecure. (Unsecure?)
Super interested in a fire ext mount for my 62; feel like I need it more there than in my 80. I know that's a whole other ball of crazy though.

@Big Cruiser Guy I think you missed the beginning of the thread. I'm not making a console. Too many players. I'm only making a LockBox or those that are keeping their original enter console.
