What’s the maximum shackle length you would run?

The more you increase your shackle length the more side deflection you introduce. Side deflection causes potential for bad road manners and possibly catastrophic side failure of the shackle off-roading. From my reading a 6inch shackle is that maximum cutoff of benefit without being detrimental.

Makes sense. Longer than that also changes pinion angle too much. I’ve also noticed that beyond a certain point they don’t seem to lift the truck higher.

My rears are a bit longer, but since I bought them, I’ve been wanting to redrill them and cut off the excess length.

I have long shackles on the rear of my 45.
