Yeah I cant argue with those prices for a reman with the 1 year 12k mile warranty.

Yeah no bad long for me after the last several experiences. Cheap components and a bad valve job

A 1998 4Runner showed up at the boneyard recently. I ran the VIN and it's 3.4.

I tried calling and texting that gentleman who rebuilds Toyota engine. He replied once and never returned my call or messages. I wanted to meet him in person at his shop. After I asked he didn’t respond.

I found two engines at car-parts.com locally
LKQ in ABQ -1998 182k miles for $1,515
Roswell, NM -1998 153k miles for $1625
Kirkland, NM- 1997 98k miles for $2675
Going to call the Kirkland shop and see if I can negotiate the price.

Thank you for this followup. Not a good sign.
 
I just wanted to say thanks for everyone input on this thread. I sold the truck to my brother who is more capable tackling this project.
